Boys will be Boys!

Matthew started baseball! He's on the Angels! He was very excited; he loves the Angels! He had his first game on Tuesday, March 10th at 8 pm. He started at 2nd Base and he caught a fly ball and got the third out in the first inning! Then he almost got a runner out at second but the short-stop dropped the ball and the runner was safe. About half way through the game Matthew said he couldn't play anymore and his finger was hurting him. Eddie taped it up and put ice on it. After the game I saw his right pinky and it swelled up pretty fast. Poor guy! I don't know how he even managed to play the first two innings.

He actually injured it during warm-ups. One of the coaches was hitting ground balls to the players. When Matthew's turn came he went to catch the ball, the ball took a funny hop, came up and bend his right pinky backwards. It's just Matthew's luck!

We took him to the Dr on Wednesday and had an x-ray but from what the Dr could see it was just a sprain. The official reading would be in on Thursday. They put it in a splint until we got the radiologists report to confirm the x-ray. Well after speaking to the Dr's office yesterday, Matthew has a fractured pinky! And he won't be able to play baseball for 4 Weeks!

We talked to his coach yesterday and he'll still be going to all of the games and he'll be the First Base coach! He's very excited about that! I'll keep you posted about his progress. We'll return to see the Dr in 4 weeks.
